Abstract

In this paper three specific topics are addressed as they pertain to the socialization of emotional pathology in infancy. First, we attempt a definitional analysis of emotion as a means of understanding disturbances in the emotional system per se. Second, different theoretical approaches to emotional development are discussed. Third, we consider ways in which emotional maladjustment may be socialized.
