Abstract

An overview is given on time-resolved x-ray measurements of the polaron dynamics of charge-ordered Nd 1/2 Sr 1/2 MnO3. This system is chosen for the strong charge-lattice-spin coupling, which is manifested as the charge-ordered, antiferromagnetic insulating phase at low temperature (< TCO approx. 160 K). The material goes through insulator-metal, structural, and magnetic (antiferro-ferromagnetic) phase transitions at TCO.
