Abstract

Assesses major causes and spatial development trends of increasingly more permanent and selective rural-to-urban migration. Sees consequences as ranging from retarding fertility decline centres. Argues for an African development policy which is concerned with sectoral and spatial balances, inter-personal equity in living standards, and political participation.-from Authors
