Abstract

An input-output to state stable (IOSS) system is one for which the state remains bounded if so are the controls and observations, and if the latter tend to zero, then the trajectory tends to a given equilibrium state. In the process of constructing a Lyapunov function for an IOSS system, a Lyapunov-like characterization is obtained for the property of `uniform output-to-state stability'. In this manner a partial generalization of the corresponding result for output-to-state stability found in, is provided.
