Warranty policy based on failure time and warranty servicing time

Abstract

This paper presents the properties of twodimensional warranty model and warranty services that are statistically correlated using bivariate function in a given warranty period. The paper studies the warranty cost considering the aspects of the failure times as well as warranty servicing times. In contrast to the custom approach, using usage and age in a two-dimensional warranty, the study focuses on the failure times and warranty servicing times as two factors. The parameters of the bivariate exponential distribution (BED) are calculated using the field data in order to examine the proposed warranty model. Numerical examples are discussed to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology derived in the paper.
